PlaneWave Ronchi Eyepiece & Spacer Kit – Collimation & Mirror Spacing Adjustment Tool

The Ronchi Eyepiece and Adapter Kit provides a reliable and precise method for verifying and adjusting both collimation and the mirror spacing of your PlaneWave CDK telescope. This tool is ideal for owners of CDK12.5, CDK14, CDK17, or CDK20 optical tube assemblies who need to fine-tune their optical system after transport, maintenance, or modification.

This kit enables adjustment of the distance between the primary and secondary mirrors with a precision of ±1mm, ensuring peak optical alignment and performance.

Kit Includes:

- CDK Backplate Adapter
- Ronchi Eyepiece Spacer Ring Set
 • CDK-specific spacer: (CDK12.5WF / CDK14WF / CDK17WF / CDK20WF)
 • Standard 1¼″ spacer ring for eyepiece mounting

Important Note:
As of 2020, PlaneWave Instruments has implemented mechanical improvements that significantly increased the structural stability of the CDK telescope line. These enhancements eliminate the need for primary-to-secondary mirror spacing adjustments after delivery under normal operating conditions.

- This Ronchi eyepiece kit is now offered as an optional accessory for cases where spacing may have been changed post-shipment or during servicing.
- In typical use, spacing adjustment is not required unless the optical configuration has been altered.
