The Series-5XL Focuser is the most robust linear bearing focuser in the PlaneWave lineup, engineered for extreme payloads and large-format imaging systems. With a massive 6.3” clear aperture and ultra-precise motorized control, it supports even the heaviest instrumentation used in scientific and professional observatories.

Designed for use with PlaneWave’s 1-meter class telescopes and large-format astrographs, the Series-5XL Focuser offers a compact 1.66" occupied backfocus while delivering a 0.5-inch (12.7 mm) travel range. With full compatibility with PlaneWave’s PWI4 control software and Series-5 controller, users can integrate focusing automation into complex imaging workflows, including de-rotation.
