Astro Haven 7' (2.14m) Dome

The 7-foot diameter Astro Haven Enterprises (AHE) enclosure is selected by Defense organizations for Interferometry and chosen by professionals for tracking asteroids, yet it is also the perfec tdome for amateur astronomers. It is fully automated with a digital keypad inside the dome and computer control for remote operation from your living room or an operations center on the other side of the world. AHE enclosures look like the future and feature quiescent operation: set a configuration and it rests silently while the target tracks through the opening. Fully open you can enjoy the night sky or outpace the fastest optical tracking mount. Partially closed it offers wind or light shielding and fully closed it withstands hurricanes or waves over the deck.

Quality and robustness translate into lower life cycle cost and AHE applies decades of aerospace engineering experience to the most rigorous fabrication and quality standards. Every piece of glass in the layup is on a CAD drawing, every step in the build is in a manual. Composite construction and stainless hardware are continuously refined in response to customer experience. The AHE 7-foot model will accommodate a wide range of optical equipment and still have enough room for equipment maintenance or a couple of observers. Too small to support an access door in the base, the 7-foot model is accessed over the side unless it is mounted on a structure and accessed from below. Typically one optional riser ring is selected but you can stack several and even include a door. There are a number of other options available such as a backup manual crank.

The dome ships assembled and installation is trivial requiring a few bolts through bottom flange shown in the footprint. The dome weighs about 450 lb. and ships on a skid that weighs about 250 lb. The domestic skid is 104"x 36"x 101" (I,w,h) and the international skid is 105"x 90" x 68" (I,w,h).

Note on options for sale: If you want to add additional rings for height, you may do so by adding them on. Just select the option to add a ring, and pick how many you want. The 4-ring and 5-ring kits includes a door for easy access to the inside when the shutters are closed, and the color can be customized upon request (prices may vary).
